| A
popular conception of hypnosis isolates it in the psychotherapist's office,
in some kind of occult setting, or in the performance of a stage hypnotist.
While early theories of hypnosis were based on mystical "mesmeric fluid"
or "animal magnetism," a modern understanding of the field treats hypnotic phenomena as a process that utilizes natural shifts in our language and perception. The techniques of modern hypnosis are gentle, indirect, relaxing, and very powerful. The American Medical Association and many other mainstream healthcare organizations have now recognized hypnosis as an effective and beneficial technique. Many different kinds of change can be addressed using hypnosis. I've helped numerous clients to change habits including smoking, overeating, nail biting, and much more - with great success. Shyness, anxiety, workplace problems, academic skills, stage fright, moodiness, road rage, and relationship difficulties are other common issues that clients have dealt with using hypnosis. Want to perform better as an athlete, a public speaker, or an artist? Hypnosis can help. The emphasis in my practice is to give you tools that you can use, on
your own, to help make your life more enjoyable, successful, and relaxed.
One on one sessions, group sessions, and a variety of lecture and workshop
topics are available. Appointments can be arranged at locations in Kingston
